Brand strategy: standing out in a sector where everyone sounds alike

In defence and space, many companies describe themselves with the same words: sovereignty, excellence, innovation, trust. Brand strategy is about saying what genuinely sets you apart, proving it, and expressing it consistently across every touchpoint, from your website to your trade-show stand.

Signs it is time to work on your brand

  • Your sales team presents the company differently depending on who they meet.
  • An acquisition, merger or new market has blurred your identity.
  • You are moving from subcontractor to tier-one supplier, or from civil to defence business.
  • Your visual identity belongs to an earlier era of the company.
  • Your candidates and customers cannot explain what you do.

Our approach

  1. Listening: interviews with leadership, teams and customers; competitor review, and a look at how AI engines describe you today.
  2. In-person brand platform workshops, using our own tools and framework: mission, vision, values, promise, proof points, personality.
  3. Expression: naming if needed, visual identity, brand guidelines, tone of voice.
  4. Roll-out across every touchpoint: website, documents, trade shows, signage, social media, office templates.

What is specific to the sector

  • A defence brand must reassure without threatening: we avoid caricatured military aesthetics, which put off candidates and institutions alike.
  • A brand must work inside an international consortium: readable in English and compatible with partners’ identities.
  • A brand must live with restricted visuals: when the product cannot be shown, typography, colour and illustration carry more weight.

How we work

We work in two ways: per project, on a quote based on your brief, or as an ongoing partnership on a fee basis. For a first diagnosis, we offer a €2,500 audit, credited against the assignment if you go ahead.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a rebrand take?

From a few weeks for an identity refresh to several months for a full platform followed by roll-out.

Can we evolve the brand without changing everything?

Yes. An evolution keeps what is recognised and fixes what no longer works; it is often the right choice.

Do you also work on naming?

Yes, with trademark and domain availability checks, to be confirmed by an IP attorney before filing.
