Digital accessibility: auditing and fixing your websites
Public bodies, and a growing share of private companies, must make their websites accessible to people with disabilities and publish an accessibility statement. We audit websites against RGAA, France’s accessibility standard, recommend fixes and help implement them.
Who is affected, and what are the risks?
| Point | What the rules say | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Public bodies | Accessibility and statement obligations; enforced by Arcom; penalties of up to €50,000 per non-compliant service and €25,000 for a missing statement | French Ordinance 2023-859 of 6 September 2023 |
| Private companies | Obligations gradually extended since 28 June 2025 (transposition of the European Accessibility Act), depending on the services concerned | Blog du Modérateur, 22 January 2025 |
Our approach
- Audit of a representative sample of pages, criterion by criterion, with a compliance rate.
- A prioritised report: what blocks access, what hinders it, what is about comfort.
- Fixes, by our team or your provider.
- Accessibility statement and, if needed, a multi-year plan.
- A follow-up audit after the fixes.
Our stance
We aim for level AA, the level the rules require. On communication websites, design matters: when a design choice conflicts with a criterion, particularly contrast, we propose a compliant solution and document the trade-off with you.
Selected work
We carried out the RGAA audit of the SIAE website we had designed, with a remediation plan followed by a full re-audit.
How we work
We work in two ways: per project, on a quote based on your brief, or as an ongoing partnership on a fee basis. For a first diagnosis, we offer a €2,500 audit, credited against the assignment if you go ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Is an automated tool enough?
No. Automated tools catch only part of the issues; an RGAA audit requires manual checks.
Is this site accessible?
Yes. It is designed to comply, and its accessibility statement is published.
